Keith A. Barker spent his early childhood in Tokyo, Japan and has since found ways to visit and appreciate numerous cultures and histories around the world. Holding a Master of Fine Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design (2000), he currently serves as Professor and Art Department Chair at his undergraduate alma mater, Asbury University, where he teaches Photography, Graphic Design and Art Appreciation. Beyond teaching, he has worked commercially and actively makes intentional photographs whenever traveling, as well as around his home. Recent projects include focusing on trees, rocks and other natural elements using digital capture as well as film. He also finds portraiture and documents of spaces inspiring. The resulting photographs center around ideas that convey a sense of history and time’s passage. Barker enjoys trail running, hiking, biking, splitting wood, and spending time outdoors with his wife and three children, where they live in Central Kentucky.
