Keith A. Barker spent his early childhood in Tokyo, Japan and has since found ways to visit and appreciate numerous cultures and histories around the world. Holding a Master of Fine Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design (2000), he currently serves as Professor at his undergraduate alma mater, Asbury University, where he teaches Photography and other Art courses. Beyond teaching, he has worked commercially and actively makes intentional photographs whenever traveling, as well as around his home. Recent projects include focusing on areas nearby his home. He also finds portraiture and documents of spaces inspiring for their stories and histories. The resulting photographs center around ideas that convey a sense of history. Barker enjoys trail running, hiking, biking, splitting wood, and spending time outdoors with his wife and three children, where they live in Central Kentucky.
